Calvin is 9 weeks old. He has decided that he would rather suck on the first two fingers of his hand than his pacifier. He sucks on them all day long. So we're looking forward to breaking that habit someday. : ) He is sleeping great, consistently 4.5 hours at a time throughout the night. He sees his new pediatrician next Tuesday, I have no idea how much he weighs now so it'll be fun to see how much he's grown.
I finished my management clinicals and all of my online classes last week. Now I just have 4 weeks of capstone and then I graduate on December 19th. I have been job searching like crazy but even nurses are getting hit by the economy... It's hard to find a hospital that is looking for new grads and a lot of them are on hiring freezes all together. I was so disappointed to find out that I wasn't being offered a position where I work now as a Student Nurse. I absolutely love the unit I work on and the people I work with. I had Calvin and started school the week my unit director sent out an email asking the December grad students about their interest in staying on the unit. (There are 3 of us). So I didn't see the email until a couple of weeks later and when I replied she said she had given my spot away. I was so upset (and a little angry she didn't at least try to call and follow up with me... she knew I had just had a baby - I had him ON the unit). But anyway what's done is done and it was a miscommunication. I'm hoping something will open up before graduation. Until then I've applied for a couple other positions around Indy and keeping an eye out for jobs closer to home (so far no luck).
Some side notes, Katie's volleyball team is going to Regionals tomorrow! She won homecoming queen a couple weeks ago and her boyfriend, Connor won king. Connor is the quaterback for Batesville and we all love watching him play every Friday. Korey helps coach the varsity team (he coached 7th grade this year as well). So far Batesville is undefeated and we're hoping they go all the way to State!
