The baby started kicking today! I have been anxious to feel the flutters I've read about since week 16, and today while lying down (with a terrible headache), the little one decided to full on kick me! I was sort of in denial at first, trying to convince myself it was something else, but he/she's been wiggling around all evening. I thought maybe Korey could feel it if he pressed down on my belly but no luck. Maybe in a couple weeks... I called my doctor's office earlier to ask about the constant headaches I've been having. I've had one everyday for the last week and half, and nothing makes them go away. Today was miserable so I finally called and she told me I could try Excedrin Tension Headache. It helped, which was a relief. The nurse told me to call back in a couple of days if they persisted so I could come in for an appointment to make sure all is well. We have our ultrasound on Friday. We can't wait to have some new pictures to share. I have to admit I've been anxious to find out boy/girl but Korey is staying strong on the "surprise" idea. We'll see if either of us cave. : )

A Day at the Zoo

This peacock was standing right outside of one of the
restaurants, it was beautiful.

These turtles were buddies. Ha.

Mom and Aiden. He wasn't too sure about the
gorilla, but then got upset when we took him off.

"Woooahh" says Aiden

Watching the fish and a big fat manatee. This was
his favorite part of the day.

Trying to get closer.

Aunt Laura and Aiden in the elephant house.
(17 week bump)

He's getting so big!
Korey and I went to the zoo today with Michelle, Aiden, and Kelsey. It was a gorgeous day outside. Poor Aiden did great despite being sick all day. He loves to point at everything and his new favorite phrase is "wooooah." We probably enjoyed the animals more than him. We bought a season pass so we can take him back this summer. Korey and I are leaving for Nashville tomorrow. So far it has been a great, relaxing spring break!

16 weeks

Today marks week 16. 4 months pregnant! For those keeping track, this week baby is the size of an avocado. We had an appointment last Friday and everything looked great. Heartbeat sounded good and everything else looked normal. I talked to the doctor about this pain I've been having in my tailbone. It's worst when I stand up and walk around after sitting for even 10-15 minutes. It gets really bad and I look funny waddling around my apartment with hardly any belly. The doctor explained it was pain caused by my ligaments relaxing and stretching. He said it wasn't very common this early and that it wouldn't really go away without physical therapy. Right now I can stand it... I'm sure I have many more aches and pains to worry about later so I might as well get used to this one! We are now looking forward to our 20 week ultrasound scheduled April 3rd. I am anxious to see that everything is developing normally. Since we won't be seeing any baby private parts, I'm just excited to see brain, heart, hands, and feet. : )

I survived last week and now this week is Korey's midterms. Our spring break starts on Friday. We are going to drive to Nashville for a couple nights and visit with one of Korey's friends from high school. I'm excited to get out of Indy and have a mini-vacation.

Check out some Belly Shots below... I've stocked up on a couple maternity items but they aren't completely necessary yet. Still in that in-between phase...

Disappointed...

Well I'm going to make this post short and sweet. I received an email today and it looks like I won't be graduating until December. Bummer. I'm going to talk to one of my advisors and see if there are any classes I can take this summer to lighten my load. So that's whats going on with that. I have a busy night ahead of me, lots of studying to do.

Oh yeah, I came home from clinical today to a clean apartment! Korey organized my accumulating mess of laundry and even scrubbed my bathtub! He doesn't even realize how much something like that helps during weeks like this. I'm lucky to have him! : )
