Calvin is 7 weeks old. This week has been tough, he has been crying every evening for 2-3 hours and is inconsolable. Then he passes out and sleeps through the night like nothing was wrong... I am still trying to breastfeed but we supplement with pumped milk/formula. Breastfeeding has been a nightmare. I have had mastitis, clogged ducts, blisters, and now thrush which has been causing pain that radiates into my back after feedings and lasts for a couple hours. I have met with a lactation consultant and we're treating the thrush but its not helping yet. Mostly I am pumping and giving him bottles because feeding him always hurts so bad. Breastfeeding is not easy but I am so determined to master it without pain... I have researched everything under the book so hopefully we will overcome the issues. (By the way if you are pregnant and interested in breastfeeding kellymom.com is the BEST website ever!)
Back to Calvin, he is smiling and sleeping well through the night, he wakes up a couple times to eat but always go right back to sleep. He loves staring at us and follows us with his eyes when we walk around the room. I love that I can take him out now and show him off to everyone! I can't believe he's almost 2 months old...
My memory card in my camera isn't working so I haven't gotten pictures lately. We did get our pictures back from his newborn shoot and they are gorgeous. I will post some of my favorites soon.

I had thrush nearly the entire time nursing Oscar. I think we chemically just didn't mix. I ended up taking a maintenance level antibiotic toward the end. Have they told you to rub on Lotrimin cream? It really helped me feel less burning. Is Calvin getting Nystatin? Hang in there.
Oh, and for clogs, just heat and massage as much as you can. Call me if you need anything! Been there!
