18 months
Calvin turned 18 months yesterday! He celebrated by coming down with a bad case of impetigo all over his face. We went to the doctor and he is on an antibiotic, so we are hoping it clears up soon. He is a trooper even when he's sick. Nothing slows this kid down. He weighed 25 lbs yesterday at his appointment. Small boy with a big ol' belly. He is still a big eater, though he's starting to spit out some vegetables at me. He used to eat ANYTHING I'd put in front of him. He is also Mr. Independent right now! He has to do everything by himself and he gets mad if you try to help without him asking for it (he will sign for help if he needs it). His temper tantrums are pretty short right now, he usually will just hit himself in the head a few times (hmm?) and then move onto another activity. He is still a great sleeper, and he can't sleep without his elephant blankie. He LOVES to brush his teeth on his own at night with his electric Thomas toothbrush. Here are some other facts about Calvin at 18 months!

Updates! Cal is 14 months old : )
So I wanted to update on all the amazing new things Cal has learned over the last couple months. He is SO fun and he cracks us up with his amazing personality everyday. He now knows the following signs: more, eat, milk, doggy, water, and no. He is waving bye bye and today he said "bye bye" in the car when we left Korey after eating lunch with him at work. In fact he said "bye bye" all the way home and kept clapping for himself every time he said it. He has this hilarious fake laugh that he does, sometimes for no reason. His favorite tv show is Blue's Clues and he loves Sesame Street as well. We took him to a movie a couple weeks ago and he sat on our laps and watched the movie for almost 45 minutes. He kept laughing really loud and at completely random parts, like when they would change to another scene. The movie was "Alpha & Omega" and he kept doing the sign for doggy throughout the movie. (They were wolves, but close enough). He loves giving kisses. If he sees Korey and I kiss, he will run over and give us both kisses immediately. He still kisses us with a big, slobbery open mouth, and we love it. : ) He can say the following words: "mama", "dada", "more" (which comes out as "mo"), "papa", and "bye bye". When he wants something, he points and says "da!" which I think means that?? He still takes 2 naps a day, after breakfast and lunch, and is usually in bed by 7 or 7:30 every night. We wake up around 8am in the morning, which we can't complain about! Also, he does not turn down ANY food. We just have to stop feeding him when we think he has had too much because it seems that he cannot get full! It's hard to say his favorite foods since he seems to love everything, but I know he loves bananas, peas, cheerios, oranges, and cheese. (Okay, really that list could have gone on and on. The kid just loves food, period. )He has grown up so much already since he turned one. We are loving having a toddler in the house! : )
In other news, I am still working nights as an OB nurse at Community North. I love my job (most days) and I don't mind working nights. I love the people I work with, and I don't have trouble making it through the night. It's my "off" days that are difficult. It's hard to sleep normally at night. But I am so blessed to have the schedule I have, which allows me to be with Cal most days of the week. Korey is still working for my dad and finishing his business degree. He should be done by next summer. We are busy wedding planning right now and still doing projects around the house. It's been a wonderful summer and fall, and we are ready for the holiday season so we can see everyone.
