The Padgett Family: 18 months

Calvin turned 18 months yesterday! He celebrated by coming down with a bad case of impetigo all over his face. We went to the doctor and he is on an antibiotic, so we are hoping it clears up soon. He is a trooper even when he's sick. Nothing slows this kid down. He weighed 25 lbs yesterday at his appointment. Small boy with a big ol' belly. He is still a big eater, though he's starting to spit out some vegetables at me. He used to eat ANYTHING I'd put in front of him. He is also Mr. Independent right now! He has to do everything by himself and he gets mad if you try to help without him asking for it (he will sign for help if he needs it). His temper tantrums are pretty short right now, he usually will just hit himself in the head a few times (hmm?) and then move onto another activity. He is still a great sleeper, and he can't sleep without his elephant blankie. He LOVES to brush his teeth on his own at night with his electric Thomas toothbrush. New skills: drinking from cup, feeding self with spoon and fork, running, climbing onto furniture (and countertop when mom and dad turn their backs for 1 minute...), dancing and sometimes "singing", opening doors, blowing kisses, pointing to body parts (belly, belly button, nose, teeth, feet, eyes, head, hair),
