8 months old

Cal is 8 months old! We are getting over his first sickness, he had bronchitis last week. Poor guy gave mommy and daddy a heart attack with a 103.9 fever... He was a tough little man though. We could tell how "off" he was, he actually held still in our arms for more than 2 minutes. If you've met baby Cal, you know that is a rare occurrence. At the doctor, he weighed 19 lbs, which puts him in about the 25th percentile. He is feeling much better and is back to being busy, rambunctious, curious Calvin. He pulls himself along furniture, crawls like a champ, and gets into everything. He started saying "mama" last week and he has another tooth on the top (that makes 3 now). Getting him dressed, diapered, and in a carseat is a task for two. We joke that all of the above involve at least one time of walking away and counting to 10... He just does NOT lay still for a second. He is the happiest little guy, and it's not hard to get him to crack up laughing. One trait that is becoming very apparent: he is so sensitive! He cries when he sees other people "rough house" and the other day, Korey choked on his drink at Skyline and was in a coughing fit and Cal lost it. It's a very different "scared" cry... I know it sounds crazy but he did it again last night when my dad started coughing because he choked on something (maybe my family just needs to learn how to eat and drink). Already 8 months... we can't believe it. He's the best little man we could ask for and we can't believe how lucky we are every day that he is ours!

Other things going on in our lives... we bought a house!! It is in a cute little subdivision in Batesville and we are so excited to move in. It's a tiny 2 bedroom home with a nice backyard. It's perfect for us, we are moving May 21st. I'm still in "new nurse" orientation at work until June, which is killing me, so I have no idea when I will find time to pack. But we'll figure it out. My job is good. I love and hate it all at the same time. I know things will get better and slow down when I get off of orientation and start working a more normal schedule. I love labor and delivery so all of the stress and lack of sleep is worth it. I couldn't do it without all of the family support we have. Calvin LOVES his Grandmas and Grandpas and Korey is amazing everyday. We are very blessed right now!
