25 Weeks

Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink (with his or her newly formed eyelashes!).

I am 25 weeks pregnant today. Still feeling great! We got some great pictures of the baby at our ultrasound last week. The placenta problem fixed itself and everything seemed fine until I met with the doctor after the ultrasound. He was concerned because my cervix has shortened significantly since my last ultrasound a few weeks ago. This can be a concern because if it gets too short (he said less than 2.5 cm, right now it is 3.3 cm), I am at risk for going into labor earlier than I should. I have another ultrasound in 3 weeks to check things before we (hopefully) leave for Gulf Shores with the family. I really hope everything turns out okay so we can enjoy our vacation and I can continue to stay on my feet and work for the rest of the summer. My doctor said he wasn't too concerned right now, but he wanted to be cautious about it. Until then I'm not on any restrictions. Baby is perfectly healthy and growing (and kicking) like crazy.

Kor and I are both finished with this semester and Korey starts summer classes tomorrow. We went home this weekend for Mother's Day and had a great day with both our families. Three of Korey's cousins are expecting babies shortly after us and one is pregnant with twins. So by Christmas, the Flannery's will have 5 new babies to enjoy! I posted pictures from the weekend and our ultrasound above!
