We had our 20 week ultrasound/appointment on Friday and everything looked great. Baby was modest and kept her legs crossed through most of the ultrasound, and after hearing that everything else looked healthy and normal, we were eager to confirm that it was indeed a girl in there. After a transvaginal ultrasound to check my cervix (3.4cm - good), she was finally able to get a peek and confirm that we are having a girl. My placenta is anterior like it was with Calvin, which is why I haven't been feeling her kick and move around as much and as strongly as I'd like to at this point. But I get reassuring bumps every once in awhile and I know I'll feel more as she gets bigger and stronger. I have gained 8 pounds so far, but it feels like a lot more than that. This little girl has been a lot less friendly to my body than Calvin was. I feel like I've gained weight everywhere besides my belly, which does not yet look obviously "pregnant." I also discovered some lovely varicose veins in my legs this week. Woo hoo. I'm ready to start showing more so people stop telling me that I don't even look pregnant... Not what you want to hear when you feel huge and none of your clothes fit you anymore! Overall, I am loving being pregnant and I am so happy that we are having a healthy baby in November.

Myrtle Beach 2012
Every year my dad rents a big ole van, packs up the whole family, and we road trip to the beach. He loves having us all in one place where he can entertain/annoy us for 12 hours, so the drive is his favorite part. (We love him). This year we went to Myrtle Beach and had a blast. Aiden and Calvin LOVE the water and couldn't get enough of the beach and the pool while we were there.

Pictures from Christmas at Disney World
We spent a week with Grandma from the Beach around Christmas time last year and Calvin got to spend 2 days at Disney World. We had SUCH a great time and we couldn't wait to go back. Calvin loved meeting the Disney characters and we managed to hit all 4 parks in one day. Our day ended in Magic Kingdom where Calvin saw "Mickey's house" (the magic castle) and a wonderful Christmas parade. Here are some pictures from our trip...

We're Back!
We're back to the blog!! Where to start?? Calvin is going to 3 in August and Baby GIRL Padgett will be here in November! We are planning on building a new home and (hopefully) moving next summer. We love our little 2 bedroom home, but eventually this little girl is going to need her own closet and room. It has been our dream to build and we are hoping to make that dream a reality very soon. I'll start with some updates on the pregnancy and then some updates on our almost-3-year-old (holy cow!) little boy. Hopefully followed by lots of pictures! I have enjoyed looking back on my old posts and would hate to not have those same memories for this little lady.
Updates on Baby Girl...
Updates on Baby Girl...
- I am 17 weeks pregnant now and feeling pretty good, it was a rough first trimester (I was much sicker than I was with Calvin). I had plenty of aversions but my strangest was and still is beef stroganoff. Which never actually made me sick in the first place... But the thought of ever eating it again makes me nauseous. Hmm....
- I have been a lot more hormonal this time around. Poor Korey has been very understanding as I randomly get grumpy, mad, and cry at the silliest things. It's not fun for me either, and I try to keep it under control!
- Thanks to those extra hormones, my skin has been a wreck! When I was pregnant with Calvin, my skin never looked better. This time, I have not been so lucky. I have never loved my Bare Minerals makeup more...
- Doughnuts, popcorn, fast food, cinnamon rolls.... Some random cravings that have hit me so far.
- I finally felt her fluttering around today. I thought I had felt her a couple times in the last couple weeks but today she has been consistently bumping around in there. Not strong yet, but I can definitely feel her.
- Calvin wanted to name her "Moses" so we had to break the news that he would not be getting his wish. : ) When we tell him it is a baby girl, he says "no, it's a baby boy!" Hopefully he doesn't know something we don't or I'll have some pink to return...
- Speaking of names, yes, she has one! But we are keeping it a secret until she gets here.
- How do I even begin to describe this awesome little man? He is so much fun and he makes us laugh everyday. He is so animated and funny and sweet. I could go on and on. : ) He is so smart and can carry on long conversations with us about anything and everything.
- He is still an eater... The kid does not seem to get full and will very rarely turn down an opportunity to eat something.
- He is very inquisitive. A typical conversation with Calvin that occurs at least 5 times a day...
- Mommy: That is a picture of a man
- Calvin: What kind of a man?
- Mommy: A tall man
- Calvin: What kind of tall man?
- Mommy: A tall man with overalls
- Calvin: What kind of tall man with overalls?
- And on and on....
- He tells Korey and I that we are his best friends. He loves giving hugs and kisses and will cuddle with us if he tired and a movie or tv show is on, but trying to get him to sit still any other time is rare.
- Favorites...
- Food: cereal, waffles, spaghetti, green beans, applesauce, and ANYTHING sweet
- Movie: Toy Story, Shrek, Madagascar, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Elf
- TV Show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Super Why
- Toys: Toy Story figurines, anything he can turn into a "magic wand"
- Activities: going outside (he would stay out there all day if we let him) and anything that has to do with water
- Milestones...
- He knows his ABC's and can recognize almost every letter
- Counting to 15
- Shapes: circle, heart, square, triangle, diamond
- Colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, white, black, gray)
- He can sing our Good Night song, Rock a Bye Baby, Twinkle Twinkle, Birthday Song
- POTTY TRAINING! He has been stubborn on this one, but we are finally on our way
- Bedtime
- Our routine is bath time, brush teeth, read a book, say prayers, sing Rock a Bye Baby, and then sing Good Night song. Do not try to mix up that order or he is not happy.
- He goes to bed in his big boy bed around 8pm with his "little blanket"
- He inevitably ends up in our room almost night. We keep saying we will stop that habit but we haven't yet. It will hopefully happen before baby gets here.... We love waking up next to him despite being kicked and punched all night while he's in bed with us. : )
