Calvin's First Easter

7 months old

Calvin,

You are 7 months old! Your daddy and I can hardly believe it. We can't believe how quickly you are learning and developing. You can pull yourself up on furniture and stand by yourself. You are even brave enough to let go and hold on with one hand. It doesn't bother you when you fall down. You are crawling on all fours now. Although, you know you can get places faster by army crawling, so you do that when you really want to get to something. You understand the sign for "all gone" and get mad when mommy and daddy make it when your food is gone. You start crying before you even realize the bowl is empty because we make the sign. Mommy still makes you food and you haven't had anything you don't like yet! Your new trick of pulling yourself up has slightly disrupted your sleep. Instead of laying down quietly like you used to, you pull yourself up in your crib and scream until we come in and put you back down. Mommy tried to outrick you by putting you in your playpen for naps... which worked a couple times until you learned how to pull up in that too! (I still don't know how you did that...) We love your big smile and bright blue eyes. You bring joy to our lives everyday and we are having so much fun watching you grow!

Calvin's Baby Dedication

Calvin got blessed at church on Sunday. We all said a prayer around him and the pastor blessed him and another baby in front of the rest of the congregation. It was a great day. Calvin was so happy and he was trying to grab and kiss the other baby. Such a friendly little man... : ) We love that he gives us kisses now!

6 months

6 months old!

Calvin, we can't believe you are 6 months old already!! We love you so much and think you are the cutest thing in the world. You are so happy and easygoing, we couldn't ask for a better baby! Here are some things about you this month:

-Your two bottom teeth popped through a couple weeks ago. They didn't seem to bother you at all, but you did have to get used to them. You woke up twice with a bloody lip from biting yourself!

-You are still sleeping through the night. We put you to bed between 7 and 8. We give you a bath and read you a story every night (usually Dr. Seuss or Where the Wild Things Are). You sleep until about 7 am, wake up and nurse, then go back to sleep for about an hour.

-You LOVE your Baby Can Read DVD. We put it on after your morning and afternoon bottles and you get so excited when it starts you squeal and kick your feet in your walker.

-You can sit up on your own for a about 10-20 seconds at a time. You are pulling yourself across the floor like crazy and can get places quickly!

-So far, you have tried the following foods (and you have loved all of them): avocado, banana, apples, butternut squash, sweet potato, and brown rice cereal

-Your daddy can make you laugh so hard. He loves running errands with you and everyone comments about how happy you are when we take you out. You have this funny smile where you squish up your face and smile so big you can't hardly open your eyes. It makes us laugh.

-I don't think you are going to rough house with daddy! The other day he was "wrestling" with your cousin Aiden and you watched with big eyes and started whimpering and whining whenever he would drop Aiden on the couch or pretend to tackle him. You did not like watching that!

We love you baby boy (Bam Bam, Cal-boy, Bubby, Booger, Boogs).... So excited for another 6 months!

Our new car!

We bought a 2010 Toyota Yaris and we love it!!
